We have a fantastic range of sport, fitness and wellbeing facilities which means wherever you are on campus, whenever you have some spare time, there will always be something for you to take part in.
However you choose to spend your spare time, whether you want to go for a quick dip in the pool, challenge a friend to a game of badminton, drop in to a Zumba class, or relax with a yoga class, we’ve got it covered.
If you want to visit the gym for a workout between lectures, there are several options, including the Sugden Sports Centre right off Oxford Road, and The Armitage Site conveniently located among halls of residence in Fallowfield. There are some great deals if you want to become a member, or you can visit on a pay as you basis.
As well as top class fitness suites and workout studios, as a student, you’ll also have access to plenty of grass and artificial turf pitches, five-a-side pitches, sports halls, activity rooms and squash courts.
The Manchester Aquatics Centre, built for the 2002 Commonwealth Games, is also right in the centre of campus. It houses two 50 metre swimming pools, and you don’t have to be a member to drop in for a quick swim.
If you’re looking for an activity to clear your head in between study sessions, why not visit our Wellbeing Rooms which are dedicated spaces giving staff and students the chance to relax and rejuvenate through activities such as yoga and tai chi.
Have a look through the links on the left to find out more about how you can stay active on campus.
