Great Manchester 10K Purple Wave

Last year over 1,100 University of Manchester staff and students entered the Great Manchester 10K Run. This year we are looking to get over 3,000 students and staff running that will allow us to create history in having our very own University purple starting wave on Sunday 28th May 2017. If you are a University of Manchester staff or student you can purchase your ticket for a heavily reduced price of £20 for students and £25 for staff (down from £38) .

Charity fundraising

This year, we are looking to support the University's social responsibility agenda by raising over £150,000 for some fantastic charities. Specifically we will be looking to partner with a couple of causes that the University is working with through the social responsibility team as well as working with the student RAG to tie in all fundraising efforts to one larger team total. More information on this will appear here in the coming weeks.

A further development this year will be the inclusion of University alumni in to our purple wave. More details of the alumni offer can be found here, so if you are a Manchester graduate why not run with us!

Running Groups

To support your training for the 10k, we have a number of running groups to support all levels of ability for you to join. For more information about the runs, check out our Running & Walking page.
