Join the staff and student running group supervised by a Run England affiliated leader. These weekly sessions vary each week and cater for all abilities:

Any students or staff wishing to run with any of the above UoM running groups needs to:
The Denmark Road groups meet ready to run at the Active Lifestyle Centre. The session finishes at 1:00pm. Changing and showering facilities can be used at the centre for a small cost of £1.00 and lockers are available for an additional £1.00 which is refundable. Alternatively, just turn up ready to run!
The North Campus groups depart from the Vimto Statue outside the Sackville Street Building. If you need to locate changing and shower facilities on campus please see the running section on the sustainability website. PLEASE NOTE: the day of this run changes each week and details can be found on the UoM North Campus Run Facebook group
Runners may also be interested to know about UMRUN - UoM Run Commute Group. UMRUN meet up for breakfast after a run to work, every last Thursday of the month, to chat and share ideas and experiences. If you want to know more please see UMRUN FB or contact us on firstname.lastname@example.org.

The walks are a great way to get out of the office, get active, meet new people. We walk come rain or shine, so do make sure you wear appropriate clothing (waterproofs & brollies in winter, sun cream in summer).
The minimum recommendation from doctors to keep your body healthy and prevent illness such as heart disease, cancer and diabetes is 150 minutes of activity a week. So you could look at that as just 30 minutes a day, 5 days a week. If you attend all three of the health walks with the Lunchtime Strollers you will easily achieve the recommended 150 minutes of activity a week.

South Manchester parkrun is a timed 5km run every Saturday at 9:00am in Platt Fields Park, Fallowfield.
We all run for our own enjoyment. Please come along and join in whatever your pace!
It is completely free to join in but please register before your first run. Only ever register with parkrun once. Don't forget to bring a printed copy of your barcode (request a reminder). If you forget it, you won't get a time.
Walking is one of the simplest and most effective forms of exercise you can do. Anyone can do it and it's very easy to get started
