Fitness Manchester

You can take advantage of a wide range of health and fitness options whether you are living on or off campus. We encourage you to exercise a minimum of 3 x 30 minutes a week and we have plenty of qualified staff and instructors on hand to help you achieve your fitness goal. We try to provide the best value for money service around and offer you discounted rates at all of our facilities – some of our activities are even Free!

Classes and Courses

With many health, fitness and wellbeing classes every week, you will definitely find a class to suit your taste and fitness level. You can choose to drop into one of our pay-as-you-go classes or enrol on one of our 'Be Active' courses; it just depends on what fits in best with your schedule and lifestyle. Zumbathon for Teenage Cancer Trust

Kick start your summer fitness regime with this mass Zumba charity workout in aid of Teenage Cancer Trust! Zumbathon is on Saturday 28th April 2012 from 11am – 1pm at the Armitage Sports Centre, Fallowfield. Warm up your vocal chords because we will be working out to classic Diva tunes. Tickets are available to purchase in advance for £6.00 by clicking here or you can get them on the door for £7.50. 

Join the Gym

You will find three fitness gyms on campus, the Armitage Site, Sugden Sports Centre and Manchester Aquatics Centre, all have a comprehensive range of cardiovascular and resistance equipment as well as a free weights area. Whether you want to improve your physical fitness, loose weight, reduce stress or just feel healthier, the qualified and friendly fitness suite staff will be there to give you help, advice and guidance.

Free Campus Activities

We know money can be tight so we try, where possible, to offer you free activities and taster sessions. If you are up early on a Saturday morning you could head down to Plattfields Park in Fallowfield and take part in a five kilometre Plattfields Parkrun or join our free guided Campus Walks, every Tuesday lunchtime, from the Dover Street building. You can also sample some of our more holistic classes and courses for free during Wellbeing Week in March. Keep an eye out throughout the year for other free activities on offer.
