Active Manchester members will soon be able to check in for classes quickly and easily using a new swipe card kiosk.

The new kiosk will be located on the ground floor of the Wellbeing Rooms reception area, on the left-hand wall next to the large screen.
Once your student, staff or membership card has been activated, simply swipe it before class to check in.

Card activation will begin over summer 2026 and continue on a rolling basis as new members join.

How to Get Ready

Activate your card: Student and staff members need to activate their student or staff card before using the kiosk.
You can visit the Students’ Union, 1st floor, on Tuesdays and Fridays between 10:00–12:00 and 14:00–17:00. Support will also be available at the Wellbeing Studios during fitness class hours from week commencing 6 July.

Public members can collect their membership card from the Armitage Centre or the Students’ Union.
Check in before class: Once activated, swipe your card at the kiosk before every session.

Active Manchester annual and monthly members will also be able to book the following week’s classes directly through the kiosk.
