The University of Manchester Sport strength and conditioning department have partnered with British Volleyball to deliver the Senior Men’s Squads athletic development as they build towards qualification for the 2024 Paralympics in Paris. Over the next two years the department will provide strength and conditioning programming and coaching to enhance the squads performance.

This partnership further strengthens UoM Sport’s commitment to supporting key sporting initiatives. In addition to their existing strength and conditioning support for Manchester Giants Academy and Manchester Thunder Pathway, the University also serves as a Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme Delivery Site for multiple Sporting National Governing Bodies in the region.

Sports Performance Officer Jon Kantor said:

‘UoM Sport are delighted to work with British Sitting Volleyball to optimise the squad’s physical preparation to qualify for the Paralympic Games. This partnership not only expands UoM Sport’s existing support for university athletes and national programmes but also showcases our dedication to social responsibility by empowering athletes and promoting inclusivity. The collaboration between UoM Sport and British Volleyball is poised to make a significant impact on the Senior Men’s Squad’s quest for Paralympic glory, solidifying the University’s position as a leading institution in sports development and performance support.’
