Virtual PurpleWave Results
This weekend saw the second of this year’s Virtual Purplewave events happening across the UK and the world.
Without the option of taking part in the usual live Great Run event, in which the PurpleWave is normally the largest group participator, 117 participants registered to run, jog or walk either 10km or Half Marathon distance. Everyone took part in their own local communities, whilst wearing purple.
We ventured into the world of linking people by a live Facebook event which can be seen here.
We awarded prizes to the winners in each category.
There were some amazing fundraising efforts as part of the event:
- AU Women’s Football Club who raised over £890 for Student Minds
- AU Hockey club raising £255 for The Mustard Tree
- Jamie Stephenson who is doing a whole host of challenges this year for Kidney Research has so far raised £550
- Cardy Camara who is raising funds for Maggies in memory of her brother has now reached £295
