The University of Manchester Sport had an exceptional 2025/26 season marked by strong performances across multiple sports, numerous promotions, unbeaten streaks, and national achievements, placing the university 20th in the UK BUCs sports rankings. Highlights included Fencing’s unbeaten campaign: The fencing team went undefeated in Tier 1, earning promotion to the Northern League and winning the Trophy Cup Final against the second-ranked university. Ultimate Frisbee’s dual triumphs: The Ultimate Frisbee teams achieved unbeaten promotion to Tier 1, with the Men’s 1st team securing the National Shield in a decisive final victory. And broad programme growth: Multiple teams across sports like rugby, football, hockey, table tennis, tennis, badminton, and water polo achieved promotions and maintained top-tier status, reflecting a culture of consistency and development throughout the programme.
