Team England selections for the Commonwealth Games 2022

University of Manchester athletes success at the 2022 Commonwealth Games!

Representing Team England, University of Manchester students Grace Harvey and Jamie Ingram competed this past week in para-swimming and swimming at the 2022 Commonwealth Games.

This is Paralympic silver medallist and 2022 UoM Sport Athlete of the Year, Grace Harvey’s first Team England selection and will be looking to continue her progress from recent years. Following an outstanding last 12 months, Jamie Ingram is making his Commonwealth Games debut for Team England. Jamie has been consistently producing lifetime best performances in the pool this year and has been rewarded with a well deserved place in the squad.

Grace Harvey competed on day four of the games in the 100m Breaststroke SB6, and with the time 1:43.29, took home a silver medal to match her Paralympic silver medal from Tokyo 2020.

Jamie Ingram came out with a very strong time in the semi-finals of the Men’s 100m Butterfly, earning him a definite slot in the finals. In the final he showed out with an impressive time of 52.33, securing him an impressive 8th place finish in a very competitive event.

Amazing job and congrats to the two of them for their performances!

Both athletes are part of our sport scholarship programme, designed to support outstanding athletes to continue their development and performances. The application window for 22-23 is now open, please follow the link here for more info.
