As January gets underway and we head into the exam period, we have a fantastic de-stress programme available for you to access. The programme provides a range of fitness and wellbeing activities, both virtually and face-to-face, providing a great opportunity to get active and feel refreshed before heading back to revision! The De-Stress programme runs from Monday, January 15, to Friday, January 28, 2024.
Purple Wave events for 2024
These prestigious events mark the University’s bicentenary, celebrating 200 years of building communities! Take advantage of the fantastic Purple Wave programmes and events accessible to staff, students, and the wider UoM community. One of the most exciting events coming up is the PurpleWave 10k and half marathon. The next events are:
- 28 February 2024 – 2.5/5km Run, Platt Fields Park
- 26 May 2024 – Great Run 10k and Half Marathon

Yoga Retreat and Gong Bath
Join us for a delightful day of yoga, massage, reflexology, and the soothing sounds of a gong bath on Saturday, 9 March 2024.
The retreat will take place at the Wellbeing Rooms, Simon Building, Oxford Road, starting at 10:00am – 4:30pm. A light vegetarian or vegan lunch and refreshments will be provided.
This day offers a perfect opportunity to relax, connect with like-minded individuals, and explore something new. Our experienced teachers accommodate all skill levels, making it welcoming for beginners.
We are delighted to introduce our fantastic choir master, Dan Mcdwyer, to kick things off for 2024. With extensive experience, Dan will bring an array of wonderful songs to the choir, teaching harmonies along the way.
Classes are held at the Wellbeing Studio G.65, Simon Building. Starting Wednesday 1.00pm – 1.45pm until 7 February–24 April 2024.
