The University of Manchester Sport Awards 2026 are coming, and this is your moment to shine. Taking place on Thursday, 7 May 2026, the Awards celebrate the athletes, volunteers, teams, coaches, and staff who make UoM sport exceptional. From standout performances to inspirational leadership and the people who keep our community thriving behind the scenes, we want to hear their stories. Nominations close on 2 March, so submit yours and make sure their achievements are recognised

Club of The Year: Women’s Rugby Union
Performance of the Year: Badminton Men’s 1s
Athlete of the Year: Grace Harvey
Volunteer of the Year: Thomas Edmiston
Coach of the Year: Jack Norbury
Social Responsibility Award: Yoga Society
Inclusion Award: Project 4.4

New for 2026

This year introduces an exciting new award category: Hall of Fame. This honour celebrates individuals who achieved exceptional sporting success during their time at UoM and have since made a significant impact on the national or international stage. The award recognises excellence in any capacity: athlete, coach, or staff member.
